HI, MY NAME IS KHOA

I’m a freelance photographer based in London, originally from Nha Trang, Vietnam. If you’ve heard of it, you’ll know it’s a beautiful coastal city, the kind of place that makes you fall in love with the ocean.

Photography has been part of my life for about seven years now, four years in Vietnam and another three here in London. I bought my first camera, a Canon 60D, with the little money I’d saved as a student back in Vietnam. At first, I photographed anything I could: street scenes, portraits, couples and the more I shot, the more I realised this wasn’t just a hobby. It was something I wanted to devote my life to.

I made the leap into professional photography after leaving my job at a graphic design company. It wasn’t the most “sensible” decision at the time, especially in the middle of a cost-of-living crunch. But it’s been one of the best choices I’ve ever made.

SO WHO AM I?

Outside of photography, I’m into painting particularly oil painting. A couple of years ago, I spent a lot of my free time with a brush in hand, but lately, work has kept me too busy. My fingers might be a little rusty, but the passion is still there.

And yes. I’m a big fan of Liverpool. Like every supporter, I dream of the day my team wins every trophy going…

MY STYLE...

Documentary coverage with a touch of fine art portraiture.

I believe in prompting, not posing.

If you’ve seen my portfolio, you’ll know my style. It focuses on being able to relaxed, having fun, and focusing on capturing genuine moments. It’s your day, I want you to enjoy it fully. I won’t pull you away from the celebration for hours unless that’s exactly what you want (in which case, I’m all in!).

I expect laughter, natural interactions, and the occasional cheeky prompt, like asking you to kiss your partner over and over, with hugs and a bit of dancing in between. No forced smiles, just real ones.

Hence, now you know a little more about me and how I work. If you feel like we’d be a good fit, I’d love to hear from you.
